ROSTER - Only players on your roster are allowed to play in any regular season or playoff game. Also, any player playing in the playoffs must have played in at least 4 regular season games. Rosters can have a maximum of 8 players for 4’s; 6 players for 3’s; 4 players for 2’s. If you play with extra players they must rotate in before your team starts a new server.
Roster players may not be players from teams in the same league. All substitutes must be listed as part of your roster.
Fouls/Rule Violations - Please call your own fouls. Games are self-refereed. Participants are responsible for calling their own fouls - please err on the side of good sportsmanship.
Teams will only call fouls committed by their own players. Players will not call the fouls against their opponents. If there is a dispute on a call, re-serve the play. Contact the WBVL on-site coordinator for clarification of the rules after the match is completed.
All players will conduct themselves in a polite and sportsmanlike manner. Individuals who do not abide by these criteria will be removed from the league.

There will be 5 minutes prior to each match for both teams to warm up on the court. All games will start no later than 5 minutes after their scheduled start time (i.e.: 6:05pm). After this time, a forfeiture is to be given.
If a team must forfeit a match for whatever reason, they must pay a $50 fine prior to the start of their next match in order to continue in the league
COED 4’s Additional Rules/Exceptions:
Teams must have 2 players of each gender on the court. If a team does not have 2 players of each gender the team may play as a an incomplete team with 2 or 3 players on the court so long as the team has at least 1 player of each gender on the court. You cannot play with 3 males on the court at the same time. If a team plays as an incomplete team with 2 or 3 players it will be penalized 4 points in each of the first two games of the match and 3 points in the third game of the match.
If a team has less than 2 players or no players of 1 gender it defaults the match and the forfeiture fee will be applied before the team may resume play.
There are NO court position restrictions or requirements in Coed 4’s Beach Volleyball but service rotation must remain the same throughout a single game. For example, players can stay in the same court positions the entire game (ie. at the net or back row etc) but each player must serve in the same service rotation the entire game.
If you play with extra players they must rotate in before your team starts a new server. Gender balance must be maintained (see above).
Two males cannot block together. MFM is permitted as long as the female is an active participant in the block (ie. not just standing there with arms up).
